Miles Maine Coon Adult for sale in Melbourne, Florida

Miles's story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Miles was living in an outdoor colony - his caregiver was shaving his long fur to keep him cool, so you see in the pictures we have, he is shaved.
Miles is friendly...so, we took Miles in, and sent him to the vet the next day...come to find out he is postiive for both Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS (FIV).
The FIV isn't such a big deal because it is extremely hard to transmit after they are fixed. (it is only spready by mating and fighting). The virus dies when oxygen hits it (anaerobic virus) so it does not spread by shared food / water / litterpan.
The Feline Leukemia is a bit different, as it is spread through shared food, water, and litterpan. The virus is weak and dies quickly (5 minutes or so) but it is still an active virus outside the body for a short time.
So, Miles will need a home alone, or with another Feline Leukemia positive kitty. We also rescued Boca, from the same colony, and he is also positive for Feline Leukemia (but not positive for FIV).
These are both feline viruses, thus will not go to dogs or people.
